Founded by Swiss-born long term Brooklynite Danielle Rambert, Persephone Moss is an urban landscaping company that is deeply rooted in permaculture, striving to create environments that mimic nature. Drawing on her prior training as a designer, and her lifelong love of nature, Danielle’s aspires to design gardens that are not just beautiful but also feel natural, and in harmony with their environment, like they’ve been there forever.

One of her guiding principles is to work with a rich palette, inspired by nature:

picking plants that will flower all throughout the four seasons, have different color barks, and will attract invertebrate (including butterflies and bees, but not only) with their flowers and fruits. The result is a rich tapestry of biodiversity, that is visually highly diverse and richly layered.

Contributing to Danielle’s gardens’ natural look is her choice of high-quality natural materials: locust wood, stone, lime paint, pea gravel… things that not only look pretty, but also age gracefully.

Most of Persephone Moss clients to date have been in Brooklyn. Front and back yards; roof terraces; tree pits; green walls; in Brownstones or in high-rise condominiums, we design any and all spaces where you can imagine some plantings.

Whatever your personal choice of an ideal garden may be—one that’s after big bold colors, smell as the organizing principle, or using natives (perhaps even invasives!) –-Danielle will be happy to bring it to life in collaboration with you.
Danielle has a certificate of permaculture from yestermorrow design built school and has taken classes at the New York botanical garden.
